SOTTOPOGGIO
The
"SOTTOPOGGIO" Farm is located
in Bagno a Ripoli, on one of the most
attractive hills surrounding Florence,
at about 8 Km from the historical center
of the city.
It can be easily reached both by car
and by no. 33 bus (ATAF Company). Its
terminal is 200 meters from the Farm.
The Farm covers approximately 10 hectares
of ground with olive growths, vineyards,
vegetable gardens and courtyard animals.
Run by the Guerini - Ceni family, they
produce top quality olive oil (made
according to traditional methods).
It is worth remembering that the territory
of Bagno a Ripoli is within the Classical
Chianti Wine area.
Riccardo Guerrini, formerly an art teacher,
and his wife Simonetta, descendent of
the ancient Moroni Family, chose to
change their life style and to go back
to nature. Their son Fabio, a Land Surveyor,
assists them. The Farm is composed of
buildings dating back to the Middle
Ages. It was originally located near
a transit station for travelers on route
to Rome.
HOW
TO GET THERE
By
A1 motorway "Firenze Sud"
exit. Follow directions to Florence
and indica- tions for Bagno a Ri- poli.
Take Via Roma towards San Donato. Turn
left at Arco del Camicia.
After about 100 meters (before reaching
the Church), you can see the Farm entrance.
The portion of the Farm
which is reserved for the guests is
a restored Farm House with three double
bedrooms with private baths.
The antique furniture was inherited
from the Moroni family. All the rooms
are centrally heated allowing visits
all year round.
For those who wish to cook their own
meals there is a large well equipped
kitchen with a perfectly working ancient
open hearth.
Cost of the room for an overnight stay
including breakfast consisting of products
furnished by the Farm: Eur 75,00 (37,50
Eur for person with breakfast)
On the ground floor there is a recreation
room where you can admire the beautiful
view of the historic center of Florence
as well as the entire city.
